About

The Animated Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała was one of the first five animation studios in the People's Republic of Poland. The Studio has been established on 1 September 1947 as an Experimental Animated Film Studio operating under the auspices of the Trybuna Robotnicza editorial office. In 1948, the Studio has been moved from Katowice to Wisła, and then back to Bielsko.

The contest project covered the whole revitalisation of the palace building while preserving its current function. The historical and conservatory study as well as the conservatory project ensure restoration of the palace features to the building architecture. The Project complements the palace structure with contemporary park arrangement.

The functional array of the complex considers the program assumptions and conservatory guidelines given in the contest. The whole complex is bound with glazed connecting building that houses staircase entrance and two glazed lifts ensuring vertical communication with the 1stand 2ndstorey of the palace and the 1stlevel of the park. The connecting building includes also the reception desk for guests of the centre. The mentioned receptions desk consists of a cash desk, cloak-room, security room and glazed canteen with indoor and outdoor tables.

At first, the visitation scheme included a visit in a palace on the 2ndand 3rdstorey, where the whole process of animated films production is presented.
